Taurus is rounding out its Raging Hunter family in .350 Legend with a new shorter-barreled option, adding an 8 3/8-inch model alongside the existing 10.5-inch and 14-inch configurations. Guns.com reported the new addition on October 21, with The Firearm Blog covering it through late October.

Taurus Raging Hunter .350 Legend 8.38-inch Revolver

DA/SA revolver, .350 Legend, 6-round, 8.38-inch barrel

The .350 Legend Raging Hunter debuted in 2025, chambering Winchester's straight-wall centerfire cartridge in a large-frame double-action revolver. The cartridge was designed to meet the straight-wall requirements that roughly a dozen Midwestern states use for deer seasons, opening rifle-caliber handgun hunting to hunters who previously had to use heavier magnum pistol rounds. The 10.5-inch and 14-inch barrel options performed well for open-country shots, but hunters working dense timber or hauling gear into tree stands wanted a more packable configuration. The 8 3/8-inch model addresses that directly.

The new variant ships in two finishes: a two-tone matte stainless and black, or an all-blacked-out configuration. Like its longer siblings, it is a six-round revolver that ships with full moon clips for fast cylinder reloads in the field. The adjustable rear sight carries over from the other models in the family. Unloaded weight on the 8 3/8-inch version is 55 ounces, which places it in the upper tier of carry weight for a hunting revolver but well within the expected range for a .350 Legend platform.

The MSRP on the new model is $1,421.99, which is the most accessible price point in the .350 Legend Raging Hunter line and falls below the $1,533.99 MSRP of the longer-barreled variants. That spread gives hunters a real choice between platform for open shooting and platform for close-in work without a significant price premium for the shorter option.

The .350 Legend produces lower felt recoil than traditional hunting handgun calibers like .44 Magnum or .454 Casull, which makes the Raging Hunter practical for extended range sessions. American Hunter and Athlon Outdoors reviewed earlier .350 Legend Raging Hunter configurations favorably, noting accuracy and practical handling at realistic hunting distances.

The addition completes a three-barrel-length spread for the .350 Legend Raging Hunter. With fall whitetail season underway across most of the Midwest, Taurus expects to have the 8 3/8-inch variant moving through distribution in time for hunters to put it in the field this season.
