Ruger announced the LCP MAX Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip Edition at the 155th NRA Annual Meeting in Houston, with Guns.com reporting full specifications after the company's April 29 press release. The factory collaboration puts Magpul's purpose-built EHG RG380 grip frame on the LCP MAX platform, pushing standard capacity to 13+1 rounds and adding ergonomic features typically reserved for full-size defensive pistols — all in a package that retains the LCP MAX's pocket-carry dimensions.
The pistol ships in Stealth Gray with a manual safety, a 10-round magazine, and a newly engineered 13-round magazine sized for the taller EHG frame. According to American Rifleman, the EHG module contributes an undercut trigger guard, Magpul's 3/4-scale TSP texture, a reversible enlarged magazine release, a higher beavertail, and a longer trigger reach — changes aimed squarely at improving recoil control and grip consistency on a micro pistol many shooters find difficult to drive at speed. Core dimensions stay compact: 5.35 inches overall, 2.8-inch barrel, 0.75-inch slide width, and 11.2 ounces unloaded. MSRP lands at $449, a $50 premium over the standard LCP MAX.
The Magpul EHG is the company's first grip module designed around a Ruger chassis, and Ruger's decision to ship it as a factory-installed configuration rather than a pure aftermarket accessory signals the ergonomic upgrade is central to the new variant rather than optional. The single-color Stealth Gray factory launch is a polymer engineering constraint, Ruger said at the NRAAM booth, not a style choice — additional finish options arrive through the standalone module, which becomes available later this month.
For existing LCP MAX Manual Safety owners, Magpul is shipping the standalone EHG RG380 grip module (SKU MAG1539) this month at $39.95 in four finishes: Black, FDE, ODG, and Stealth Gray. The module ships with a color-matching 13-round grip extension, a replacement magazine release, a release spring, and a grip plug, and works with all factory Ruger LCP MAX magazines in 10-, 12-, and 13-round capacities. The standalone path gives the large installed base of LCP MAX Manual Safety owners a way to access the same ergonomic improvements without buying a new pistol.
One compatibility note for buyers planning to carry the Magpul Edition: the reshaped beavertail, undercut trigger guard, and revised frame geometry mean existing kydex and leather holsters cut for the standard LCP MAX will not fit the new configuration. Aftermarket holster makers are expected to release EHG-specific SKUs, but availability will trail the gun launch by weeks.
Ruger described the EHG collaboration as "just the beginning" of what the two companies have planned for the LCP MAX platform, signaling additional configurations or accessories may follow. The factory Magpul Edition LCP MAX is available to order now through dealers; the standalone EHG RG380 grip module ships through the remainder of May.
