Olight launched the PL X GL on September 19, 2026, adding a Class 3R green laser to its established dual-beam PL X platform and packaging three independent output modes into a single Picatinny (1913) and GL-spec rail-mounted unit. The PL X GL ships with three modes the shooter can run independently or in combination: a 1,200-lumen floodlight for close-range area fill, a 16,900-candela spotlight with a rated throw of 260 meters for positive target identification at distance, and a continuously adjustable Class 3R green laser that can be used alongside either beam or alone as a stand-alone aiming reference. The distinction matters in practice — flood illuminates a room but bleeds light and reveals the shooter's position at range, while a spotlight concentrates output and keeps the beam tighter at distance. Having both in one mount means the shooter is no longer choosing between them.
The housing is machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, and the unit carries an IPX7 waterproof rating and a 1.5-meter drop-resistance specification — the same durability thresholds as the original PL X. Power comes from an integrated 3.7V 620mAh lithium-polymer battery that recharges in roughly 80 minutes via USB-C, supporting up to nine hours of continuous runtime in laser-only mode. The built-in battery eliminates the need for a separate battery carrier and keeps the light's profile close to the original PL X.
Olight engineered the PL X GL to fit existing PL X holster designs from more than 16 manufacturers, covering duty, outside-the-waistband, and inside-the-waistband formats. Shooters who already run a holster cut for the standard PL X can carry over to the GL variant without ordering new leather or Kydex, a practical compatibility decision that lowers the total cost of switching.
The three-function format is particularly relevant for carry and home-defense builds where mounting a dedicated laser module alongside a separate light creates holster fit and clearance problems. The PL X GL consolidates those functions without adding significant bulk to the rail mount.
At the time of the September 19 launch, Olight published the light through its own direct store. Full authorized-dealer stocking timelines and broader pricing details were not announced; the company has not yet indicated when the PL X GL will appear through third-party retailers. Buyers looking to mount one before dealer inventory arrives can go through Olight directly while the retail channel stocks up.
