Langdon Tactical has launched the LTT Mossberg 590, a factory-customized pump-action shotgun built on the proven 12-gauge Mossberg 590 platform and finished with the same action-tuning philosophy the company applies to its Beretta pistol work. AmmoLand reported the launch, with The Firearm Blog also covering the new shotgun. The standard 18.5-inch configuration is available now directly through Langdon Tactical's website.

The heart of the LTT 590 package is an action job on the internal components that engage during cycling. Langdon Tactical applies an NP3 coating — a co-deposit of electroless nickel and polytetrafluoroethylene — to the receiver internals, bolt, and bearing surfaces. The result is a measurable reduction in the gritty cycling feel that has been a characteristic complaint of stock 590 actions. The trigger receives the same attention: an LTT trigger job with a new spring and NP3-treated parts drops the break weight to roughly 4.5 pounds, compared to the 6.5 to 7 pounds typical of a factory 590. That lighter, cleaner break makes a real difference in timed or defensive drills where the trigger is managed repeatedly under pressure.

On top of the internal work, LTT fits the 590 with Magpul furniture and its Labyrinth heat shield, a proprietary forend cover that protects the shooter's support hand during extended firing strings and is designed to support a thumb-over-bore grip without contact with the barrel. The sighting package has also been upgraded: Langdon installs its Fastback optic mount forward of the ejection port, leaving the loading port accessible for emergency port loading, with footprint options for the Trijicon RMR, Aimpoint ACRO, and Holosun 509T. A click-adjustable backup rear sight sits just forward of the mount, and LTT's Adjustable Super Duty Shotgun Sight goes up front.

The LTT 590 ships in two configurations, both chambered in 12 gauge with a 3-inch chamber and a fixed cylinder bore choke. The Standard model wears an 18.5-inch barrel and is listed as available now, with pricing running from $1,534 to $1,623 depending on the optic footprint selected during ordering. A 14.375-inch Shockwave-format variant is listed as coming soon on the Langdon Tactical site.

This marks the company's first move into pump-action shotguns after years of building a reputation in the semi-automatic pistol market through its Beretta and CZ-based customs and parts kits. The LTT 590 positions Langdon Tactical's custom-shop approach — detailed internal work, quality furniture, and a coherent sighting solution — on a platform that has been a staple of law enforcement armories and home-defense closets for decades.

The Shockwave configuration, which would put the LTT treatment on a 14.375-inch non-NFA foregrip design, is the next thing to watch for. No availability or pricing has been published for that variant yet. Langdon Tactical's prior accessory releases — particularly the Labyrinth heat shield sold separately — suggest the company plans to build out supporting gear for the 590 platform going forward.
