Foxtrot Mike Products introduced the ISU-9 on October 21, a complete integrally suppressed AR9 upper receiver priced at $499 — undercutting the typical market for integral suppressed platforms by a substantial margin. The Firearm Blog covered the debut, noting that the ISU-9 is designed to bring standard-velocity 9mm ammunition to subsonic speeds without the shooter needing dedicated subsonic loads.
9mm integrally suppressed AR9 complete upper receiver, 10-inch barrel
The ISU-9 ships as a complete 10-inch upper assembly in 9mm, built around Foxtrot Mike's established Glock-magazine-compatible AR9 architecture. The integral suppressor is incorporated directly into the barrel assembly, and the company says the design carries standard 115- and 124-grain 9mm loadings below the 1,125-feet-per-second sonic threshold during normal firing. That is the key distinction from bolt-on suppressors: conventional external cans reduce the mechanical report of the firearm but leave the supersonic crack of standard-velocity ammunition intact. The ISU-9 addresses both, without requiring the shooter to stock a separate subsonic-only ammunition supply.
At $499, the pricing is the headline. Most integrally suppressed 9mm platforms begin well past a thousand dollars before retailer markup. Foxtrot Mike has applied to the integral suppressed category the same cost-down logic that made its standard FM-9 and Mike-9 AR9 uppers popular with budget-minded builders. The upper accepts Glock-compatible lower receivers and drops into existing AR9 builds with no modification to the host platform required.
The launch arrives at a favorable moment for suppressor buyers. ATF finalized deregulation of suppressors and short-barreled rifles earlier this month, ending the NFA Form 4 process that previously added months of wait time to any suppressor purchase. Buyers who were deterred by the combined cost and paperwork of the old suppressor market can now acquire the ISU-9 as a straightforward retail transaction. Retailers including Primary Arms are listing the ISU-9 as available.
Foxtrot Mike notes that its AR9 uppers do not support aluminum-cased ammunition, consistent with the company's published guidance across its product line. No bolt carrier group or charging handle is listed as included, so builders pairing the ISU-9 with a new lower should budget for those components separately.
Foxtrot Mike has not announced expanded caliber options or additional barrel-length variants of the ISU-9, but the company regularly follows initial releases with expanded configurations. With the post-deregulation suppressor market in its early weeks and the ISU-9 at the lowest price point the integral suppressed AR9 category has seen, demand will be an early indicator of whether Foxtrot Mike has established a durable price floor for this format.
