CZ-USA on October 6 introduced the CZ DUTY, the company's first modular striker-fired pistol platform, launching with four factory configurations at a uniform $729 MSRP. Soldier Systems and AmmoLand News both reported on the launch the same day availability began.
modular striker-fired 9mm pistol, 15+1 compact / 17+1 full-size
The DUTY line centers on a serialized steel fire control unit that drops into small, medium, or large grip modules, giving shooters the ability to tailor frame size without additional transfers or paperwork. The compact variants — the DUTY 4.0 C and DUTY 4.0 C MS — ship with 15+1 capacity; the full-size DUTY 4.0 F and DUTY 4.0 F MS hold 17+1, with extended base plates adding two rounds to each. The "MS" designation indicates the addition of a frame-mounted ambidextrous manual safety, available on both the compact and full-size frames.
The slide ships with direct-mount optic cuts that accept Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Holosun K, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprints out of the box. Optional plates extend that compatibility to the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 and Holosun HE509T. CZ uses a cold hammer-forged barrel with a nitride finish, and the trigger carries over from the company's P-10 striker platform with refinements. Ambidextrous controls — slide release and magazine release — are standard across all four SKUs.
CZ rates the DUTY for a service life of 50,000 rounds of standard 9mm or 25,000 rounds of +P+/DM51 ammunition, the latter spec meeting military overpressure standards under NATO AC/225 D/14 testing. Inside Safariland published a 600-round range report at launch with no reported malfunctions.
The DUTY positions CZ directly against the SIG P320, Ruger RXM, and Springfield Echelon in the modular-chassis segment. The four-SKU launch, the NATO-spec durability rating, and the manual safety option on both frame lengths suggest the company has law enforcement and government procurement on its roadmap alongside the civilian market. Dealer inventory went live October 6.
