Cabot Guns has unveiled the Midnight Rebellion MAX, an all-stainless-steel version of its double-stack carry 1911, with production scheduled for 2027 and reservations accepting a nonrefundable $1,748.75 deposit now. GunsAmerica reported the announcement, describing the new variant as a heavier, darker evolution of the company's existing Rebellion MAX platform. The base price is $6,995. The Pennsylvania maker is limiting availability to a small production run, consistent with its standard practice for the aluminum-framed Rebellion MAX.

The defining change in the Midnight version is the switch from aluminum to stainless steel throughout the frame and grip module. Where the original Rebellion MAX weighs in at 28 ounces unloaded, the Midnight Rebellion MAX registers 34 ounces — an added six ounces that Cabot attributes to measurable reductions in felt recoil and muzzle rise when shooting 9mm. The action carries over the platform's established geometry: a 4.25-inch hand-fit stainless bull barrel using Cabot's single-upper-lug lockup, a double-stack grip accepting STI/2011-pattern magazines, and the company's signature tight-tolerance fitting throughout. The finish is Cabot's proprietary Vintage Classic treatment, which gives the pistol its dark matte appearance and which the company says also improves surface hardness along with resistance to wear and environmental exposure.

The Rebellion MAX occupies a specific niche in the premium single-action carry market — a double-stack 9mm with 1911 ergonomics and trigger geometry in a platform narrow enough for concealed carry. The Firearm Blog covered the Midnight Rebellion MAX specs in detail, noting that the platform competes against Wilson Combat's SFX9 and Staccato's carry-configured 2011s, though at a price point that puts it well above either. The steel-frame Midnight variant shifts the calculus further toward the collector and competition segments: at 34 ounces, the pistol is serviceable as a carry gun for buyers who prioritize shootability over weight, but it reads more naturally as a range or nightstand piece.

Shooting Sports USA noted that Cabot currently limits the aluminum Rebellion MAX to 60 units per year. The company has not confirmed production numbers for the Midnight steel variant, but the deposit structure and 2027 delivery timeline suggest an equally constrained run. The pistol is not available for sale in California or Massachusetts. Buyers in eligible states can reserve through Cabot's website.

The broader premium 1911 market has been resilient through recent industry consolidation, with small-batch makers like Cabot largely insulated from the volume pressures affecting mid-tier manufacturers. Whether demand materializes for a 34-ounce carry 1911 at nearly $7,000 will be the question when Midnight Rebellion MAX units begin shipping next year.
