Bergara Launches the Premier Competition Elite, Its First Factory PRS Rifle

Bergara has released the Premier Competition Elite, the company's first factory-configured rifle purpose-built for the Precision Rifle Series production class, pairing its proven Premier action with an MDT ACC Elite chassis and TriggerTech Special trigger across seven competition-standard calibers at an MSRP of $2,999. The Firearm Blog reported the launch on September 29, with orders now open through authorized dealers.

The Premier Competition Elite is built around Bergara's Premier action, a receiver that has powered custom PRS builds for years but has rarely shipped pre-installed in a match-ready chassis from the factory. Bergara mates it to a 16-inch heavy-contour barrel and installs the barreled action in the MDT ACC Elite chassis system, which delivers a fully adjustable stock, adjustable thumb rest, and a full-length Arca-Swiss rail running the entire length of the forend. The TriggerTech Special trigger provides a clean, adjustable pull behind the action, and all versions ship with a 12-round magazine.

The seven-caliber lineup covers the full spectrum of PRS production-class competition: 6mm Dasher, 6mm GT, 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, .22 Creedmoor, .25 Creedmoor, and .308 Winchester. The 6mm GT and 6mm Dasher options are the most competition-relevant, as both have dominated production-class results across PRS nationals and regional matches over the past two seasons. Having them as factory-chambered options — rather than requiring a custom reamer job on a separately sourced action — removes a significant barrier for new competitors entering the sport.

NRA Shooting Sports USA previously covered the platform when Bergara introduced the original Premier Competition in 6mm GT; the Competition Elite represents a step up in specification with the full MDT ACC Elite chassis, the TriggerTech trigger, and the broader caliber menu. Until now, building a comparable configuration on a Premier action typically meant sourcing the barreled action separately, selecting a chassis, and assembling the package independently — adding meaningful cost and lead time before a round was fired in competition. The Premier Competition Elite collapses that process into a single purchase.

Bergara operates its U.S. arm from Lawrenceville, Georgia, and manufactures its barrels in-house, which underpins its track record for consistent bore quality at production volume. At $2,999, the Premier Competition Elite slots into the production-class price tier occupied by factory PRS platforms from Tikka, Ruger, and Savage, while offering the Premier action for buyers who want a step up in machining tolerances from the higher-volume competition.

Dealers should receive initial inventory throughout the fall. Bergara has not announced additional barrel configurations or caliber additions at this time.
