Beretta USA on August 7 introduced two new metal-frame additions to its B22 Jaguar rimfire platform — the B22 Jaguar Tac Metal and the B22 Jaguar Metal Competition — giving training-focused shooters and Steel Challenge competitors factory options that previously required aftermarket builds. The Tac Metal is available now through authorized dealers nationwide at an MSRP of $749; the Metal Competition, priced at $969, is listed as coming soon.

The Tac Metal is built around a modular aluminum chassis with a fixed 5.25-inch barrel threaded 1/2×28 for suppressor use. The pistol ships with a full-length Picatinny rail for optic mounting, adjustable fiber-optic sights, ambidextrous controls, dual-side ejection, and two 15-round magazines. Beretta lists unloaded weight at 33.6 ounces. A 10-round configuration is available for buyers in capacity-restricted states.

The Metal Competition steps up the kit through a development partnership between Beretta, the Scholastic Action Shooting Program, and Tandemkross that the company says spanned six years. The factory trigger has been swapped for an adjustable Tandemkross semi-flat-faced unit with pre- and over-travel adjustment. The package also includes a Tandemkross Steam Demon single-port compensator, an Accelerator thumb ledge, and a Tandemkross fiber-optic front sight. The Metal Competition runs a 5.5-inch barrel and the same 15-round capacity but weighs in at 36.4 ounces fully dressed.

Beretta described both pistols as designed to make firearms training "more approachable, enjoyable and rewarding for enthusiasts of every experience level." The launch marks the company's deepest push yet into the practical rimfire segment, a category that has grown alongside the expanded SASP match calendar and Steel Challenge's widening appeal. Both variants share the same lower chassis as the standard polymer-frame B22 Jaguar, keeping holster compatibility consistent across the product family. The Tac Metal's threaded barrel also positions it naturally for use with .22 LR suppressors, a market category seeing record purchase volume after the NFA transfer tax on suppressors fell to zero in January.

Dealers looking to stock the Metal Competition should expect allocation details from Beretta's distributor network in the coming weeks. The Tac Metal is on shelves now, and Beretta's full lineup — including the original polymer-frame B22 Jaguar variants introduced at SHOT Show in January — remains available through the company's authorized dealer network nationwide.
