Beretta has introduced a factory-ported variant of its full-size APX A1 pistol, chambered in 9mm Luger and available in FDE and OD Green. The company's announcement, distributed through The Outdoor Wire on August 31, confirms an MSRP of $629. Guns.com, American Rifleman, and Shooting Sports USA each ran the new-model coverage on the same date.

The porting system pairs a single port machined into the 4.25-inch hammer-forged barrel with seven corresponding ports in the slide. During firing, propellant gas exits through the top of the slide, pushing the muzzle down and reducing felt flip. Beretta engineered the port geometry to maintain reliable cycling across a wide range of 9mm loads while keeping the package fully suppressor-compatible with the ports closed when a can is threaded on. The goal, as the company describes it, is a flatter shooting pistol that returns to target faster without forcing the shooter to step into a competition-only platform.
Specs are otherwise in line with the standard APX A1: the overall length is 7.5 inches, height is 5.6 inches, and unloaded weight comes in at 28.5 ounces. The slide carries a factory optics-ready cut compatible with the most widely used pistol red dots on the market. Controls include an oversized, reversible magazine release and bilateral slide releases — giving both right- and left-handed shooters the same lever position without a conversion swap.
The two-color rollout — FDE and OD Green — targets a buyer sitting between the duty-pistol shelf and the competition rack. At $629, the APX A1 Ported undercuts most factory-ported pistols in its weight class while remaining priced for everyday carry use. Canik, Walther, and CZ have each pushed factory-ported options in the past 24 months, and the APX A1 Ported drops Beretta squarely into that race.
The full-size APX line has been a staple of Beretta's civilian and law-enforcement catalog since 2021. The A1 revision followed with a revised trigger, improved grip texturing, and the optics-ready cut that has become a baseline expectation in the duty and carry segments. NRA Women, Primer Peak, and Athlon Outdoors — which shot the pistol at the Beretta factory in Gardone Val Trompia — each published coverage of the new variant at launch.
Dealer inventory will reflect when distributors begin pushing stock to retail shelves in the coming weeks. Buyers looking to add the Ported variant to a collection alongside other APX A1 configurations should check with Beretta-stocking dealers for live availability.
