Bravo Company Manufacturing is teasing a new 9mm carbine. In a short video posted to its Bravo Company USA Facebook page, the company showed off a compact AR-pattern pistol-caliber carbine it is calling the BCM9, paired with the line "The BCM9 is coming" and the hashtag #thermonuclearprotection.

BCM has not released specifications, pricing, or an availability date, and the post stops short of calling it a launch. What the teaser does show is a familiar BCM build: a short barrel capped with a flash hider, an M-LOK handguard, a BCM pistol grip, a collapsible stock, and a red dot optic and weapon light already mounted. The receiver is roll-marked "9mm x 19," confirming the chambering.

The detail enthusiasts will note is the magazine. Rather than the Glock-pattern or proprietary magazines many current 9mm ARs use, the BCM9 in the teaser feeds from a straight steel stick magazine seated directly in the magazine well, the layout associated with Colt's SMG-pattern 9mm magazines. If that holds, the BCM9 would drop into one of the most established magazine ecosystems in the pistol-caliber AR world, the same pattern used by the Colt 9mm SMG and the long line of clones and dedicated lowers built around it.

A dedicated 9mm carbine would be new ground for BCM, a company better known for its mil-spec AR-15 rifles, carbines, and uppers. The company has not said when it will show the BCM9 in full.
