Safariland and Haley Strategic Partners have launched the BASELINE belt line, a jointly developed carry and duty belt system that rethinks how the belt, the buckle, and the accessories connect to each other. Soldier Systems Daily first reported on the launch in June, and The Firearm Blog ran coverage this week.

The system ships in two configurations. The BASELINE Slick Belt ($155) is a single laminate belt built around an Overlock Tab Closure System paired with an integrated one-inch Raptor buckle. The laminate construction gives the belt the rigid foundation that carriers and accessories need to stay stable under load, while distributing that load more evenly than stitched-webbing alternatives. The BASELINE MOLLE Belt ($170) adds an outer layer of PALS-compatible attachment points for shooters who want to run MOLLE pouches, med kits, or additional carriers directly off the belt without an inner-outer belt stack.

The design brief that Safariland and Travis Haley worked from was specific: eliminate the traditional failure points of the duty and range belt without abandoning the load-carrying capability that law enforcement and serious competition shooters require. The Overlock Tab Closure System is the functional core of that effort. Instead of the typical Velcro or hook-and-loop interface that connects an inner and outer belt — a connection that weakens over time and can slip under hard use — the BASELINE routes retention through the buckle closure, removing the Velcro layer as the primary structural link. Safariland says the result is stronger pull resistance than traditional CUBL2 attachment methods and a more consistent daily fit as the belt experiences wear.

Haley Strategic Partners developed a suite of accessories engineered specifically for the BASELINE mounting system, sold separately through Safariland's distribution channels. The initial accessory lineup includes D3 Pro Inner Belts, Mandible MOLLE Straps, a dump pouch, single and double magazine carriers in open and closed-top configurations with cantable mounting, medical support carriers, and dedicated HOLLE-compatible belt keepers that hard-mount directly to the belt rather than threading over it. The accessory ecosystem is designed to grow; Safariland has indicated that additional BASELINE-specific gear is in development.

Initial colorways are black and coyote brown, with multicam and ranger green variants slated to follow. The BASELINE belts are available now through Safariland's direct sales and authorized dealer network. Buyers who have been waiting for a purpose-built alternative to the legacy Velcro belt stack — particularly those running pistol competition, concealed carry, or professional duty setups — should have the line in hand quickly given Safariland's domestic fulfillment infrastructure.
