Rost Martin Launches the RM1X, Three 9mm Pistols on a Full-Size Grip

Rost Martin announced the RM1X series on September 2, adding three 9mm striker-fired pistols to its growing lineup. The new family — designated RM1CX, RM1CX Comp, and RM1CX Tactical — is built around what the company calls a compact slide over a full-size grip: a shooter gets the capacity and control of a service-size handgun while carrying the shorter slide profile typically associated with a compact. All three models share the same core platform. The nitrocarburized steel slide sits atop a black polymer frame with Rost Martin's signature grip texture and fully ambidextrous controls, including the slide stop, magazine release, and manual safety. Each pistol ships with an RMR-footprint optics plate already in the box, making optic mounting an out-of-the-box option rather than an afterthought. The hammer-forged barrel measures 4 inches, the flush-fit magazine holds 17+1 rounds of 9mm, and the pistol weighs 23 ounces unloaded — an overall height of 5.1 inches with a flush magazine. The Double Action Striker trigger breaks at 5 pounds across all three variants. MSRP for the base RM1CX is $469.

The RM1CX Comp adds an integrated compensator at the muzzle to reduce muzzle flip and cut split times for competitive shooters or anyone who wants a flatter-shooting platform out of the box. The RM1CX Tactical swaps in a 1/2x28-threaded barrel paired with suppressor-height sights that clear a silencer body without a riser plate. Both Comp and Tactical variants carry an MSRP of $549. The distinction between the two is clean in practice: the Comp is built for speed on the range, the Tactical is ready the moment the shooter picks up a can.

The RM1X sits alongside Rost Martin's full-size RM1F family, which the company introduced in January at SHOT Show 2026. The shared grip architecture between the two lines means RM1F holsters are likely to accommodate the RM1CX, a useful detail for existing customers building out carry or competition kits. The brand has been building momentum since the original RM1C compact introduced the platform, and the RM1X represents the next logical step in a lineup that is expanding across formats and mission roles.

Rost Martin said California-compliant versions of the RM1CX and RM1CX Comp, shipped with 10-round magazines, are planned but did not announce a release date. For all other markets, the RM1X series is expected at dealers shortly following the September 2 announcement. Given the strong reception the RM1F received at SHOT Show, demand for the hybrid compact format will be worth watching as the series lands in retail inventory.
