Range USA marked a milestone in its nationwide expansion with the grand opening of its 51st retail and range location in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, with a three-day celebration that ran August 28 through 30. The new facility brings the Blue Ash, Ohio-based chain into the Pittsburgh suburban market for the first time and represents the second of three new stores the company committed to opening in 2026 as part of a $27 million capital investment program.
The Monroeville facility covers approximately 12,000 square feet, housing a full retail floor alongside 14 public 20-yard shooting lanes and a dedicated instructional classroom with seating for up to 20 students. The store employs 30 full- and part-time team members, all trained to assist customers across every experience level. The grand opening ran daily door prizes beginning at 10:00 a.m. each of the three days, NRA Shooting Sports USA reported in its coverage of the opening. Courses offered at Monroeville include private lessons, basic handgun fundamentals, and concealed carry certification programs.
The opening follows the company's 2025 performance, when Range USA crossed the 50-location threshold and reported serving more than 1.4 million shooters through its range network. SGB Media noted the Monroeville store is Range USA's second Pennsylvania location, following an earlier store elsewhere in the state. The $27 million 2026 program covers three markets: Pittsburgh (Monroeville), Nashville (Smyrna, Tennessee), and Kansas City (Lenexa, Kansas). The Smyrna store, also tagged for Q3, opened earlier this summer; the Lenexa location is expected to open before the end of Q4, which would bring Range USA to 52 locations by year-end.
Range USA's integrated format — retail floor, training-grade shooting lanes, and structured coursework under one roof — has become a competitive model in a market where independent FFL count has been declining. According to ATF retail-licensee data reported earlier this year, the number of licensed dealers in the U.S. has trended downward for several years, while regional chain operators have steadily captured volume. The combination of accessible retail and on-site instruction has drawn consistent foot traffic from first-time buyers, a segment that saw elevated growth during the pandemic era and has remained elevated since.
The post-NFA-tax-elimination surge in suppressor ownership beginning January 1, 2026 has added another draw to indoor range facilities with appropriate backstop ratings and training staff familiar with suppressed fire. Range USA has positioned Monroeville and its other new locations to serve that demand through its instructional programs.
The Lenexa opening remains the final 2026 milestone for Range USA before attention turns to whatever the company has planned for its 2027 expansion calendar.
