Leupold & Stevens has expanded its carbine optic line with the LCO Pro F2, a rugged 1x red dot sight the company announced on July 16 and built for shooters running modern sporting rifles, shotguns, and pistol-caliber carbines. The optic carries an MSRP of $899.99 in both matte black and Flat Dark Earth, and Leupold lists it as coming soon.
Enclosed 1x carbine red dot · 1 MOA multi-reticle
The LCO Pro F2 builds on the reputation of Leupold's original Leupold Carbine Optic, keeping the hooded, large-window housing that made the platform popular while reworking the internals. At its core is what Leupold calls its Professional-Grade Red Dot Optical System, paired with a premium aspheric lens set into a recessed housing designed to cut glare and give shooters a clean sight picture in bright light.
Rather than lock buyers into a single aiming point, the sight ships with a selectable multi-reticle system. Shooters can choose a 1 MOA dot, a dot with compass points, a circle-dot with compass points, or a standard circle-dot, letting the same optic adapt to precision work or fast close-range shooting.

Brightness is handled through a rotary dial with 30 total settings, 20 for daylight and 10 for night vision use. Leupold added what it calls a Rapid Illumination Dial, or RID, that cycles the sight through its brightness range in a half turn so shooters can go from a low setting to full daylight brightness without spinning through every stop.
Runtime is rated at an average of 30,000 hours, and the sight uses Leupold's Motion Sensor Technology to drop into a sleep state after five minutes without movement, then wake instantly when the rifle is handled. A dedicated lockout mode keeps the settings from being bumped in storage or transport.
The housing is machined from a single piece of U.S. aluminum and finished in either a matte anodized coating or Flat Dark Earth. Leupold rates the LCO Pro F2 as waterproof and fogproof, and the optic offers unlimited eye relief along with the company's full lifetime guarantee.

"The LCO Pro F2 has been designed and built from the start for those that demand industry-leading performance and professional-grade features," said Nic Kytlica, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc.
Like the rest of Leupold's gold-ring optics, the LCO Pro F2 is designed, machined, and assembled at the company's facility in Beaverton, Oregon. Both the matte and Flat Dark Earth models are priced at $899.99.
