HUXWRX Safety Co. introduced the FLOW 9 M on October 1, a Grade 23 titanium modular suppressor that converts between a compact and a full-length configuration for the host in hand. The Outdoor Wire carried the press release the following day.
Grade 23 titanium modular 9mm/multi-caliber suppressor, converts between 6.3-inch compact and 8.6-inch full-length
The two-length system requires no tools. In its compact configuration the FLOW 9 M runs 6.3 inches, and with the included 1/2×28 booster assembly fitted for pistols with reciprocating barrels, the total weight is roughly 8.3 ounces. Extending to full length adds barrel to 8.6 inches and pushes the weight with booster to approximately 10.5 ounces. HUXWRX built the can around its FLOW-Through baffle geometry, which the company says reduces back-pressure and limits the volume of hot gas venting back through the action during rapid strings. MSRP is $849, and it ships in C-Series Cerakote in Matte Black or Flat Dark Earth.
Caliber coverage is broad enough to make the FLOW 9 M a genuine multi-platform option. HUXWRX rates it for 9mm, .22 LR, .17 HMR, 5.7×28mm, .300 Blackout in both subsonic and supersonic loadings, and .350 Legend. The included booster assembly is required when mounting on a pistol with a reciprocating barrel; for fixed-barrel hosts — pistol-caliber carbines and AR-pattern rifles — it comes out. HUXWRX recommends a detailed cleaning every 1,000 rounds.
The FLOW 9 M is the multi-platform sibling to the FLOW 9K PCC, a single-length dedicated suppressor for fixed-barrel PCCs that HUXWRX announced at the same time. Where the 9K PCC is optimized for one type of host, the M variant is designed to cover pistol, PCC, and rifle platforms in a single can that adjusts for the job. The Firearm Blog and Guns.com both covered the dual announcement on release day, and the suppressor was available in-stock through major distributors immediately at launch.
The timing works in buyers' favor. ATF issued an open letter on October 9 formally ending enforcement of the NFA Form 4 approval process and $200 tax stamp for suppressors — a significant shift in the acquisition process covered separately. For anyone who had been holding off on a suppressor purchase while that legal picture developed, the FLOW 9 M enters a considerably simpler market than it would have entered a month ago.
HUXWRX Safety Co. is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and manufactures its cans domestically. The FLOW 9 M is available through authorized dealers as of October 1. Buyers should confirm their state's suppressor laws before ordering — ATF's enforcement-discretion guidance leaves state-level restrictions in place.
