Brügger & Thomet's U.S. subsidiary has expanded its Herriman, Utah manufacturing facility from a startup operation to one of the country's larger dedicated suppressor plants in under a year, the company announced this week. B&T USA now employs more than 55 workers at the 88,000-square-foot Herriman site and has reached production capacity of more than 7,000 suppressors per month.
The ramp was rapid. B&T USA began the fourth quarter of 2025 with three employees and two industrial 3-D printers in the Herriman facility. By late July 2026 the site had grown to more than 55 staff, nine 3-D printers, and seven CNC machining centers. AmmoLand reported the full expansion scope, and Soldier Systems Daily carried B&T USA's formal announcement. The Herriman facility now handles the complete production chain under one roof — machining, additive manufacturing, finishing, assembly, quality control, and customer-facing shipping.
The parent company, B&T AG, is headquartered in Thun, Switzerland, and supplies service pistols, submachine guns, suppressors, and carbines to military and law enforcement clients across more than 130 countries. The Utah operation targets the U.S. civilian and dealer markets, where B&T USA competes with established domestic names including SureFire, Dead Air Armaments, and SilencerCo. Reaching 7,000 units per month puts Herriman among the more productive single-site suppressor manufacturing facilities in the country.
The growth comes against the backdrop of a suppressor market that has seen sustained consumer demand since the broader passage of state-level suppressor deregulation and a growing culture of hearing-conservation awareness among range-going shooters. Congress has periodically revisited the Hearing Protection Act, which would reclassify suppressors from NFA items to standard firearms accessories, though no final legislation has cleared both chambers. In the meantime, domestic manufacturers have moved to scale capacity to meet existing demand under the current transfer framework.
B&T USA said it plans to continue adding headcount and production equipment throughout the remainder of 2026. No specific revenue targets or a second-phase build-out timeline was disclosed in the announcement. The company said prospective dealers and retail partners can contact its U.S. sales team directly for distributor information.
