Aero Precision, Ballistic Advantage, Stag Arms, and VG6 Precision have been acquired by a private family investment group and will operate going forward under a new holding entity, Aero Ballistic Holdings LLC, RECOIL reported after Aero employees confirmed the sale. The acquisition closes out a receivership process that had kept the companies in legal and financial limbo since May.

The path to this outcome began May 5, when Aero Precision and Ballistic Advantage were placed into general receivership in Pierce County, Washington, with J.S. Held LLC appointed as receiver. Stag Arms and VG6 Precision, also held in the White Wolf Capital portfolio, were part of the same proceeding. White Wolf Capital, the private equity group that assembled and held the four-brand platform through its most difficult stretch, is now entirely out.

Receivership differs from bankruptcy in important ways: the brands continued manufacturing, honored existing warranties, and kept dealer relationships intact throughout the process, even as production slowed and inventory ran thin. AllOutdoor.com, which first reported the sale on August 21, noted that the receiver's objective was always a sale rather than a dissolution.

The buyer is a private family of experienced business operators not previously in the firearms industry, though they describe themselves as firearm and outdoor enthusiasts, Second Amendment supporters, and backers of the military and veteran community. The family, the acquiring entity's principals, and the purchase price are not being disclosed publicly. All four brands — Aero Precision, Ballistic Advantage, Stag Arms, and VG6 — will keep their individual names and identities under the Aero Ballistic Holdings umbrella, and manufacturing is described as already ramping back up following the transition.

For the AR-15 parts market, the outcome matters considerably. Aero Precision is among the largest domestic suppliers of AR-platform upper and lower receivers, and Ballistic Advantage holds a comparable position in the premium barrel segment. Stag Arms is one of the few American manufacturers offering factory left-handed AR configurations as a standard catalog option, and VG6 is well established in muzzle devices and compensators. The combined portfolio represents a meaningful portion of the domestic aftermarket component ecosystem. Whether the new owners direct capital toward capacity expansion or focus first on rebuilding inventory and fulfilling outstanding orders will be the near-term story to follow.
