Savage Arms has introduced the REVEL Tactical, a lever-action rimfire built around a threaded barrel, an MDT Tactical stock, and full accessory-rail coverage across three chamberings. Soldier Systems Daily first reported the launch on October 10, and all three variants are available now through the company's stocking dealer network.

The REVEL Tactical comes in .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR under part numbers 46040, 46140, and 46240. The .22 LR model feeds from a 12-round tube magazine; both the .22 WMR and .17 HMR variants hold nine. Every configuration shares an 18-inch medium-profile barrel threaded 1/2"-28, the pitch used across the widest range of rimfire suppressors and muzzle devices on the market. No adapter is required to mount a standard .22-caliber or .17-caliber can, which puts the rifle in position as a plug-and-play suppressor host for buyers already running a compatible can or picking one up in a suppressor market that has seen demand more than double year-over-year since the ATF suspended NFA registration requirements for cans.

The Firearm Blog notes that the MDT Tactical stock is the most significant departure from the rest of the REVEL family. MDT, a British Columbia-based maker best known for its precision bolt-rifle chassis systems, brings its ergonomic grip geometry and a clip-on cheek riser to the lever-action format. The riser lets shooters dial in comb height without modification, properly positioning the eye over any optic mounted on the one-piece Picatinny rail that spans the receiver. M-LOK slots on the fore-end add mounting points for lights, bipods, or vertical grips. Adjustable iron sights with a hooded front post come as standard backup. The rifle uses Savage's existing takedown system for compact storage and transport, and with a stated weight of approximately six pounds unloaded it stays light enough for all-day rimfire hunting work.

MSRP is $629 for the .22 LR and $659 for both the .22 WMR and .17 HMR models. The REVEL Tactical enters the lineup alongside the existing REVEL Classic and REVEL DLX; Savage has confirmed all three variants remain in production with no plans to discontinue either existing model. Guns.com lists the .22 LR at $699.99 at retail, modestly above the announced MSRP, which is typical for a new model working through the distribution chain. TheGunMag confirmed the model numbers and chambering details consistent with specs reported across multiple sources.

Savage has not paired the Tactical with a factory suppressor recommendation or branded accessory bundle, leaving suppressor selection to the buyer. Shooters pairing a can with the .17 HMR version should confirm that their suppressor is rated for a full-power, non-subsonic centerfire rimfire rather than a pistol-caliber or .22 LR-rated can, as .17 HMR projectiles typically exit the muzzle well above the subsonic threshold. Formal hands-on evaluation from major firearms publications is expected before year-end as retail inventory builds.
