Osight, an optics brand from Olight, released the SE DPP earlier this month, putting an enclosed-emitter design on the widely adopted DeltaPoint Pro mounting footprint at $239.99 — substantially below what Leupold asks for the open-emitter DeltaPoint Pro. Optics Wire covered the release, describing the SE DPP as one of the more competitive enclosed-emitter entries this year for the DPP footprint.

The enclosed design seals the emitter against lint, debris, and moisture that can foul open-emitter dots during concealed carry and competition stages. The housing is CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and weighs 1.34 ounces — light enough to leave pistol balance neutral on most mid-size and compact platforms. Osight specs the viewing window at 0.91 by 0.71 inches, which the company positions as larger than competing enclosed designs at the same price tier, supporting faster target acquisition under lateral movement or stress.

Reticle flexibility sets the SE DPP apart from single-mode alternatives. The optic offers a switchable multi-reticle system: a 2 MOA dot alone, a 32 MOA circle alone, or a combined dot-and-circle presentation. The large ring serves as a fast-acquisition outer reference during close-range work, functioning similarly to a ring reticle on a pistol-caliber carbine red dot, while the 2 MOA dot handles precise index at distance. Battery access uses a side-loading CR1620 rated at 75,000 hours in dot-only mode, allowing shooters to swap batteries without removing the optic from the slide — eliminating the need to re-zero after a battery change. The side-load format has become a near-standard expectation at this price tier since Holosun popularized it across the EPS line.

The DeltaPoint Pro footprint is among the most common direct-mount patterns in the pistol market, factory-cut on optics-ready slides from SIG Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Walther, CZ, and others. That broad compatibility gives the SE DPP a large addressable market without adapter plates or additional slide milling.

At $239.99, the SE DPP undercuts the Holosun EPS ($299) and sits well below the Shield RMSc Enclosed, which typically retails above $300. Osight ran a 15-percent launch promotion through August 14 for early buyers. The optic is available direct through Osight's website and is expected to reach major online firearms retailers in the near term.

Enclosed-emitter designs have steadily displaced open-emitter dots in the carry and competition market as shooters prioritize debris resistance. Growing suppressor adoption has reinforced that demand — enclosed emitters handle the additional muzzle blast and cycling forces of a suppressor-equipped host more reliably than exposed designs.
