Beretta debuted the 80X Cheetah Tactical Launch Edition at the 155th NRA Annual Meetings in Houston this month, chambering the hammer-fired .380 ACP platform in its most suppressor-ready and competition-ready configuration yet at an MSRP of $1,049. Outdoor Hub was among the first to report the gun's April 17 reveal at the show.
The headline feature is a 4.4-inch stainless barrel threaded at 1/2-28 — the pitch compatible with most .380-rated suppressors — paired with a factory-installed single-port compensator. The comp is removable, leaving the thread exposed for owners who want to run a suppressor, a practical option now that Congress has eliminated the $200 NFA tax stamp. Guns.com reported the package ships with three 15-round extended magazines and Beretta's X-treme S adjustable trigger, which dials overtravel down to a 1mm reset. The optics-ready slide accepts a direct-mount red dot without adapter plates.
The rest of the pistol matches the flagship hardware. LOK G10 grip panels replace the standard scales, a two-slot Picatinny rail sits forward of the trigger guard for a light or laser, and full-length front and rear slide serrations make press-checks easier with a can attached. Sights are fiber optic. The double-action/single-action lockwork with an external hammer remains intact — the same heritage mechanism that made earlier Cheetah variants popular with shooters who preferred a traditional DA/SA over striker-fired alternatives. According to the press release distributed by The Outdoor Wire, the gun ships in a two-tone bronze-over-black finish. Unloaded weight is 25 ounces; overall length is 7.3 inches; height is 4.9 inches; width is 1.4 inches.
Two SKUs cover the launch: J80XTACLED10 for the standard 10+1 configuration and J80XTACLED15 for the extended 15-round setup. Availability is immediate through dealers. The 80X platform has been gaining ground with civilian carriers who prefer a lower-bore-axis, hammer-fired .380 over micro-nine striker pistols, and the Tactical edition is the most accessory-forward version Beretta has offered in the line. With .380 suppressor options multiplying now that Form 4 applications have surged following the NFA tax-stamp elimination, the Tactical Launch Edition lands at an opportune moment in the product cycle.
The $1,049 MSRP puts the Tactical Launch Edition in a competitive bracket that includes factory-threaded offerings from SIG and CZ, though the Cheetah's heritage DA/SA action and bronze finish give it a distinct identity. Beretta has historically followed limited launch editions with broader SKU expansions; watch for additional finish and configuration options as dealer feedback comes in through the summer.
